Each year the Mary Lou Crowder Trophy is presented to a member who had contributed to the association through the years. The trophy represents the dedication that Mary Lou Crowder exhibited in her life to the game of golf as well as the South Carolina Women’s Golf Association. Mary Lou Crowder was a champion golfer at her home club, Columbia Country Club, the Women’s City Golf Championship of the Greater Columbia Area, and three times champion of the South Carolina Senior Women’s Golf Association. She served as President of the South Carolina Women’s Golf Association 1994-1996. She served on many other golf association boards and worked tirelessly to promote women’s golf wherever she went. This award was first presented to Georgia Hart 2002 and more recently has been presented to Shelia Antonucci 2019, Cathy Robinson 2021, Kathy Cuppia 2022, Deckie Jones 2023, Lynn Holmes 2024 and Genon Krivohlavek in 2025.
All these ladies exhibit the spirit and dedication given by Mary Lou.
As it is impossible for us to know all the members of our association and the efforts, they put forth promoting golf in their home area, we are asking you to submit the names of those you feel are deserving of such an award. Please put as much detail into your nomination as possible so that we can understand the extent of their dedication. Please remember that this award can only be presented to a member one time. In addition, members of the current Executive Board of the SCSWGA (president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary) are not eligible while serving in any of the fore-mentioned positions.
We may not always be aware of the incredible efforts our members make to promote golf in their communities. We encourage you to submit nominations of deserving individuals.
Email your nomination to golf@scswga.com.
